Town and Country Facts

Town and Country is one of the wealthiest towns in America with some of the most prestigious homes you'll find anywhere. The median household income in Town and Country is nearly three times the state average. The median house value is more than five times the state average. 

Incorporated in 1950 with 1,000 residents, Town and Country is now a fourth-class city and home to almost 11,000. There is little commercial development in this town of 12 square miles, but looking around town you'll still find white picket fences with horses grazing, preserving that country feel. 

If you want to get outdoors, Town and Country has three beautiful parks with tennis courts, trails, horse stables, log cabins, playgrounds, athletic fields and a lake with a fountain. The Parks and Recreation Department puts on the Fire and Ice festival with tastes and drinks from local restaurants, bounce houses, fireworks and live music, including a performance by the Town and Country Symphony Orchestra, one of the best in the Midwest. 

Nearby is Queeny Park that features the Greensfelder Recreation Complex, a Dog Museum, tennis courts, playgrounds, fishing and hayrides. Also close by is one of the best country clubs in the Midwest. Bellerive Country Club has hosted several PGA tournaments including the 2008 BMW Championship, the 1965 U.S. Open and the 2004 United States Senior Open. The course is set to host the 2013 Senior PGA Championship and the 2018 PGA Championship.
